Coaching Journey Milestone

Almost a year ago, I nearly walked away from something that has since become a big part of who I am.

I was just two sessions into a six-month coaching programme and seriously thinking about quitting. Life was full, I was juggling a lot, and self-doubt crept in. But something told me to stick with it.

To keep showing up even when it felt hard. I'm so glad I did.

Since then, I've completed more than 70 hours of ICF-accredited training, including mentor coaching and a formal performance evaluation by an ICF-certified assessor.

But more importantly, it's the real connection with people that has made the biggest difference to me. At first, I saw the coaching hours as the goal. Then something shifted. I began to experience what it means to be in conversation that goes beneath the surface. I've learned to let go of the agenda, to listen deeply, to hold space, and to ask questions that invite reflection and insight.

To the people I've coached so far, thank you. You've trusted me in some of life's more vulnerable moments, and it's been an absolute privilege to walk beside you.

I was assessed recently as exceeding the standard for Associate Certified Coach (ACC), and I'm now working towards the remaining coaching hours needed to sit the ICF exam and become certified.

The programme didn't just sharpen my coaching skills. It changed the way I speak with my family and friends. It deepened how I listen, how I ask, and how I show up in every part of life.

I want to thank Neville Smith, my own coach, for modelling what masterful coaching looks like. His support and guidance have been a huge influence on me.

I'm also grateful to the NeuroLeadership Institute for designing and delivering such a powerful experience, and to the cohort I travelled with. You made the learning richer and more human.
